  • MARCH 2007: NEW CLIENT Jet Airways, India's premier airline, has appointed us to handle US public relations. Founded in 1993, Jet Airways is India's largest privately-owned airline with a young fleet of the latest Boeing and Airbus aircraft, including the advanced Boeing 777-200 and Boeing 737-900. Jet Airways' route system covers some 60 cities in India, Southeast Asia, Sri Lanka and Nepal - and it operates nonstop flights from four Indian cities to London. Service to the United States will commence in 2007.

  • JANUARY 2007: NEW CLIENT We have been appointed public relations representative for Orient-Express Trains and Cruises. The classic "Orient-Express" train - the Venice-Simplon Orient Express traverses Europe. The Royal Scotsman and Northern Belle provide elegant train-cruises in Scotland, Wales and England; the Eastern & Oriental Express traverses Indochina and Southeast Asia; the Road to Mandalay cruises the Irrawaddy River in Myanmar-Burma; and a variety of luxury barges sail the waterways of Burgundy and Languedoc-Roussillon.

  • OCTOBER 2006: NEW CLIENT We have been appointed public relations representative for the new Hôtel Fouquet’s Barrière, opening on Paris’ Avenue des Champs-Elysées on November 1. The new hotel is the first “palace hotel” to open in Paris in almost eighty years -- since the Hotel Georges V was unveiled in 1928. Its cornerstone is Le Fouquet’s restaurant, a Paris legend since its opening in 1899, and a listed landmark of “monument historique” status.  “I first visited Paris when I was eight years old,” says Geoffrey Weill, “and my parents took me to Fouquet’s whose splendor I have never forgotten; so it’s especially exciting for us to be involved in the launch of this truly grand Parisian hotel.”  

  • AUGUST 2006: NEW CLIENT Israel's Ministry of Tourism has reappointed WEILL to take on its public relations portfolio, effective August 1. The appointment comes after six-months of research by the Ministry, and a formal bid process. WEILL is no newcomer to Israel: we handled the Ministry's PR needs from 1995 through 2003. Since the fall of 2004 the Ministry handled its public relations needs in house.
  • NOVEMBER 2005: The WEILL "team" celebrate the company's tenth anniversary at a gala dinner at New York's Chanterelle restaurant.

  • MAY 2005: Our president, Geoffrey Weill, received an invitation from the United States Embassy in Kabul to come to Afghanistan for three weeks to survey tourism sites and facilities throughout the country and to come up with recommendations for tourism to the "new" Afghanistan. "It was very flattering to have been identified as the right person for such a task," says Geoffrey Weill. But after a review of the security situation, the State Department's dire warnings to Americans not to visit the country and the embassy's "expression of regret" that - as an independent contractor - there would be no security arrangements, Geoffrey decided - with regret - to decline the invitation.

  • APRIL 2005: This month we were given the challenge of publicizing The March of the Living, the annual gathering at Auschwitz that brings thousands (this year a record 18,000 - including thousands of Christians and Muslims) to Poland to walk the route from Auschwitz to the death camp at Birkenau. It was a two-week PR project and the response was extraordinary - with press clippings totalling 16 million+ circulation, coverage by all the networks, FOX and CNN, plus a Wolf Blitzer CNN interview with one of the march's luminaries, Elie Wiesel.
